This is a really nice phone BUT There is NO 3.5mm jack!!!!!!!
I will be sharing with you my profound thoughts from examining this absolutely Fabulous S20 FE Samsung phone for you today….or night depending on when you read this review. I like that it’s called FE. It just…… ‘Feels Elegant’ rolling off the tongue but what does the FE stands for? I am told it means Fan Edition. Yeeeaah, but based on my experience with the phone I think we could try something like Fun Everytime. Or Fully Enhanced. Orrr Foolish Endeavor, if you are hoping it has a 3.5mm jack. Or a Fools Errand, if you go searching for a 3.5mm jack… even in the SIM card slot. This S20 FE had better be good, as I hear that Samsung has lost a lot of market shares to some companies like Xiaomi that had some really powerful phones which had 3.5mm jacks. Xiaomi certainly would not have followed Mango, Orange or Apple who ditch the 3.5mm jack in an effort to boost Bluetooth sales…so I hear. If it’s true I do hope Samsung doesn’t do that with android users cause that might not go over too well…with EVERYONE…wink wink. Now let me tell you, I have a very calm, purring like a machine, foot loving, under my bed hiding, seemingly 3.5mm jack loving cat. Her internet name? Call her Scratchtastic. She has three jobs and she takes them very seriously. First job? Sleeping!! Second job? Eating!! Third job? Where is her 3.5mm jack at? When the Amazon box with the phone got here, I heard a strange sound. I wondered, is that growling I hear? Scratchtastic!!! What’s wrong? Her look was telling me ‘you better get that box outta here’. I’m like …Crazy cat, it’s got a 3.5mm jack. Duh.Folks, the phone came in a nice package and the phone lookTed really nice. Yeah and I know the word is looked. Anyhow, I set up the phone and copied my music to it. Wow!!! Let me tell you, I absolutely like the processing power of this Phone. I was sooooo excited, I was like let’s get that 3.5mm jack headphone that knows how to push them beautiful sounds. Let’s plug it into that 3.5mm…..where’s the jack?I heard that strange sound again. Was this cat hissing again? Do you need some catnip or something? Ohh, the 3.5mm jack!! Now I knew why Scratchtastic was about to go Wolverine up in here, There is NO 3.5mm jack!!!Sad and upset at the same time, I thought Samsung, why??? Then I thought, maybe the camera will make things better. I mean, the camera is one of two main reasons why I buy a phone. The other is the 3.5 mm jack. But There is NO 3.5 mm jack!!!I tried using the zoom to see far away, but it didn’t work anywhere near as good because ….There is No 3.5mm jack!!! I would have bought the overpriced S20 Ultra for the camera, but how can it take great pictures since… There is no 3.5mm jack!!!My music once sounded great on phones…& this phone sounds great & all but …falls flat since…There is NO 3.5mm jack!!! Scratchtastic doesn’t even look at me anymore….except you kno, when she needs her food. Samsung, how could you?! I couldn’t test the wireless charging as Scratchtastic prefers wired charging like using a 3.5mm jack, but as we know…there is no 3.5mm jack.As a music producer, audio purity is crucial in my work. Using the 3.5mm on my phone to listen music files has been essential to great audio production …but…There is No 3.5mm jack!!! Now the music is gone….now I’m simply called producer. Sigh!!Connecting this (unlocked) phone to the cell carrier was very simple and all worked well except I had a hard time hearing the customer service rep since the phone didn’t have a …….you guessed it…a 3.5mm jack. The phone display is nice and is very smooth in motion. Can you imagine how much smoother it would have been with a 3.5mm jack?!!!And the battery?! Yeah, the size is great and last a day. But there is not a single doubt that it ‘might’ have lasted a whole lot longer, ‘maybe’ even a week if it had a 3.5mm jack.Hmmm, I hear a strange scratching sound in the kitchen like a chair is getting shredded, I better look. Scratchtastic? You awful cat!!! What you doing to the chair? Oops …I mean sweet Scratchtastic. I see you looking at me. Yeah I’m walking away because I wanna. Sigh, this 3.5mm jack situation is tearing us apart!!!Folks the phone calls are clear and loud and the 5G is fast…..but I feel a 3.5mm jack would have gotten it over the speed hump to 6G speeds. I didn’t play any games on this phone as I’m not a Bluetooth gamer…. I’m a 3.5mm jack gamer. All in all, this is a nice phone. It’s fast and has a lot going for it.Scratchtastic seems to now urinate 3.5mm closer to the floor and her urine smell has risen 3.5mm higher. So with that said here is my conclusion about getting this phone: If you have a pet Iguana, it might love you for it. But if you have a cat like Scratchtastic and you want to keep your room door open when you go to bed at night, then the absence of the 3.5mm jack can absolutely cause issues for you. Even your kitchen chairs might turn up with unknown 3.5mm deep scratches. Buy with confidence.

Great condition! UNLOCKED, one issue called a network unlock code, read review!!
I took photos of the phone the day of arrival but now cant find them.. but the phone came in EXCELLENT condition although the packaging was just a box with little to ensure a safe delivery. The phone was unlocked but a **NETWORK UNLOCK CODE** kept popping up when sim card was insterted. (Thats the photo in this review.) So I swore the phone wasnt unlocked. Reached out to the seller and my carrier which was walmart family mobile. I was told by my carrier i needed a new sim card. So i ordered it and when it finally arrived, boom same error. My carrier reset the sim many times and still no luck. When i had messaged the seller they gave me a code that wasnt right and when i reached out again, still another wrong code. What the phone fails to warn you is that only after a few attempts it will lock you out completely. It will then say **MASTER KEY CODE** needed. I googled what that was and it seemed like a hopeless code to obtain. The startup on the phone says AT & T. So i took it to their store and they had said that yes the phone was unlocked!! But the network was locked to walmart family mobilewhich was my carrier . So come to find out the code i needed, the first code, the network unlock code, I needed from my carrier! They absolutely missed it and after days of this mess and ongoing phone calls, finally the walmart family mobile agent on that day in the At&T store had told me the codes i needed from day one. Idk how they just skipped the option and blamed my sim card. The codes arent a secret and im still unsure why they didnt recommend theirs to fix it. I guess they just assumed it wasnt their codes needed. But it was!!! Unbelievable right!! So then were now stuck on master key code and no one, my carrier, nor AT&T, nor samsung can help with that. Due to the sellers wrong codes, me googling the wrong codes, and most of all my carriers support line not mentioning their codes, I was locked out and was gonna return the phone. However AT&T did show me other sim cards put into the phone by other carriers were working. It was still unlocked but just couldnt now be used on family mobile and possibly all tracphone carriers due to the master key code lock. So with that said I swapped to AT&T prepaid and got their sim card and it all worked great! It was recommended to get the sim card from the AT&T store directly because sometimes those sim kits at walmart dont always work correctly and are nonrefundable. So if this issue happens to you just be sure to ask your carrier for those network codes!! The seller now knows what to suggest if this happens to another and I’m telling you that the carrier has the codes and all will be fine. Also the seller offered me a replacement phone and partial refund for this issue. I declined a replacement only because I couldnt send this phone back and await a new one. I was already without a phone long enough dealing with this for days. So the seller at least still gave me a partial refund and that was okay with me. So the customer service is well and fair from them!!! Also even AT&T said the phone itself was in such great shape! So far so good on the phone itself, everything is working as it should.

It’s only been a week, but the phones are great!Camera’s a little iffy in regular photo mode.. No better than my last phone which was 5 years old. However, the portrait mode is amazing! Love the quality! Even in low light, it’s great!I use my phone to take pictures, so it’s important for them to look good. I don’t use the flash or anything.I’m not big in selfies so I can’t really judge the front facing camera other than it does facial recognition as expected. The fingerprint reader is frustrating. It takes a few tries, but finally unlocks the phone. I’ve read this is a known issue with this phone. – A fingerprint reader on the side or back would be better instead this one is on the bottom of the screen.. If you don’t use the fingerprint reader to unlock your phone, this isn’t an issue. XDBattery life has been good. I charge it every other day. I don’t play any games so I can’t say how well the battery life is for that. I only surf the web and shop.I find the keyboard is better on this phone. Less “missed” button presses or wrong button presses. The sound is good. The phone gets quite loud if you need it to.There are a lot of different sounds to choose for the ringtone/alarm notifications/regular notifications. I don’t love most of them.. They’re all kinda sauntery and not very upbeat like I think a ringtone should be or alarm sound. Feels like for a child in my opinion or those that can’t handle loud sounds. I understand but this is a phone. I want to jump up if I have a call or need to be somewhere, you know?Anyways, the screen is quite good. Very nice colors. Oh and you can change the colors too if you’d like. It comes with a vibrant color option, but I turned it to normal. The other was too saturated and looked like the colors were bleeding. I did a quick change, not a thorough one like you can do.The flashlight has a few modes for brightness. I only use mine to help the cat find toys lost under the couch so I don’t need it super bright, but if you need it, it’s an option. :)I do recommend getting a screen protector and phone protection. The backing is plastic. I actually like this because it means the back is less likely to break. Yes, the phone feels cheaper and looks it, but with a case, you wouldn’t know. I also like the film protectors for the screen over glass. Again, it won’t get damaged as much as a glass protector would. – I would recommend this especially for kids. That being said we did have to return one phone after only 2 days. I think it was the membrane under the power button. The button got stuck pressed in and we were able to get it back out, but then it was loose and rocked back and forth. We returned it and purchased a new phone, exactly the same which arrived in 2 days. It’s just like the others. When you have a family that needs phones, you tend to get everyone the same.To sum it up, these are good phones, no complaints so far. It was easy to setup and add all my usual apps. However, if you need to reset the phone to factory, you need to setup a Samsung account to do so. I hear that Apple has a similar thing. (I’ve never owned an iPhone because of it’s restrictions.)Also, the phone does appear to have a micro SD card holder on the opposite side of the SIM card holder. I haven’t tried this yet, but will soon.

This phone came pretty quickly even though it had to cross borders. It came in perfect condition and works amazing. I had to purchase a new sim card to get the 5g working because it was quite old and now I have absolutely no complaints about this pretty phone!
