This dutch oven won’t let you down
This enameled cast iron dutch oven is very practical, and that is for a fraction of Le Creuset price, yet not compromising quality one bit. Full-metal oven safe, including the lid. Durable and beautiful. I haven’t tried oven roasts yet, but I am sure they will turn out just fine. I did make Japanese chicken and beef curry in it and they turned out awesome every time (steps included caramelizing, searing, sautéing, boiling and simmering – all delivered with quality). I admit I liked a see-through glass lid from another pot better for range top tasks – to control the simmer with better precision, since cast iron is known (and valued!) for superior heat retention and smoother temperature changes.When storing with a lid on, even completely dried, the rust may start to develop where lid touches the rim of the pot. So I wrap the lid in a thick plastic bag before putting it on – doesn’t seem to rust this way. You could also toss a crumpled paper towel inside if needed, to help absorb any residue smells.Make sure to wash it (I also then wipe it dry) soon after usage and don’t soak it for long. Tossing it in a fridge is not the best idea as it will rust – just move food to airtight containers and wash the pot. There are oils to help care for cast iron, but I don’t like the smell they usually develop over time.PS: I also like those cone-shaped pot holders that came with it and use them a lot, with other pots too 🙂

I’m in love with this pumpkin dutch oven
I just received this Overmont Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven – 4.5QT Pot with Lid (pumpkin color). It was well packaged, with substantial packing material to protect it. Upon inspection, I found no chips, pinholes or any other defects in the enamel in either pot or lid. It also came with a host of goodies as described in the listing – recipe book, care instructions, magic sponge, silicone coaster and two small decorated pot holders. I immediately cooked a one pot meal, and this dutch oven did a grand job of cooking it. Clean up was a breeze, as everything easily wiped off, even the dried on bits. I didn’t notice any residual baking stains on it, and it looks as clean as it did when I took it out of the package.So far I’m thrilled with this Overmont Dutch Oven. Great price, quality and looks.

Una cazuela con mucha personalidad.
Sin duda está cazuela es hermosa, su tamaño perfecto, los colores sin detalles negativos, llegó muy bien empacada, la he usado ya en varias ocasiones y no decepciona, hace muy bien el trabajo, al igual que su cerrado es hermético, no se genera escapes de vapor. Trabajar cone ste tipo de ollas hace que te sientas en tu niñez viendo cocinar a la abuela. Y nada malo que decir del resultado, los alimentos quedan con una cocion exquisita. También felicitar al vendedor, aparte de la cajuela, viene un mantel de silicona para posar dicha olla al terminar de cocinar, unos coje ollas, muy útiles por cierto y su manual que también está en español. Sin duda recomiendo está marca, la calidad del productoens muy bueno.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I’m not sure why the blue one was less expensive than the other colors, but it is beautiful. We made a roast in it last night and it cooked evenly and cleaned up nicely. It comes with 2 little potholders and a little recipe book.

Gorgeous Dutch Oven
Wow! This is simply gorgeous and beautiful Dutch oven. I love that. It came with extra stuff. I already have a red one that I recently bought. I decided to get a second one and pick this blue and it’s beautiful. I made a plain artisan bread in one and a rosemary garlic Parmesan artisan bread in the other at the same time. They both came out beautiful and so delicious! I bought two so that I can save on electricity by baking two at a time. Don’t regret it I bought my daughter one with the cream color and gold lid. She absolutely loves it and has been making all kind of things in it.

Got this for my mom for mother’s day and she loved it! The color is very pretty and the functionality of the pot is top tier. Shes made roast and potato soup in it so far and both dishes were amazing!!

Dutch oven starting to chip
I give it a four star for now there is a one year warranty on this. I have used it three times and already I have a chip at the top of the base. I have been very careful with it. I have not clunked it or clank it closed, so we’ll see how it goes over the year but if this keeps happening, I’m going to be returning it.

Such a great product! Why would anyone spend $100-$500 on another like product?
I’ve been making sour dough bread now for the last year or so. Up until purchasing this cast iron dutch oven I had been making the bread in traditional bread pans. I found that my bread just wasn’t as moist and airy as the bread my daughter makes in her dutch oven, so I decided to buy two of these and give them a try. The quality of the product is exceptional. These are quite substantial and robust. I expect these will be around for my lifetime and hopefully one day enjoyed by my kids. And at the price I paid and the quality of the product, I just can’t imagine why some would spend twice or more as much as what these cost. I can’t imagine I’ll ever need to replace these, but I will definitely recommend this product to my family and friends!
