Def recommend, solid build, great design for money
We’ve been using the Gotham Steel Ceramic Stock Pot for almost a year now, and it’s become a staple for us in the kitchen – especially for big family meals. The 5-quart size easily accommodated our family’s needs for 5-6 people, whether it was pasta, soups and stews or good old fashioned (and fluffy) non-soggy rice we’re south asian so don’t like it when rice is sticky. The nonstick ceramic interior is still working like new, a few scratches but be sure to use non-stick spoon and accessories, easy making and easy to clean up with hand. At first, I worried about the handles not being durable, since my sister’s same pot’s handles became non-tight, but so far ours has been perfect…and the twist-and-lock handles keep the handles secure, preventing spills (great for someone who measures “the right amount” with his eyeball). The strainer lid is brilliant when draining pasta or washing grains, and the copper base is a hair better looking. Everything we made in it—from curries to chewy rice, soup, stew and cooked evenly without scorching. Even if sometimes food got burnt or stuck it was easy to cleak just soak it for couple of hour and easy to clean. Be sure to use gentle sponge or else it will get ruined. 10/10 (the only thing I would want is for it to come in a larger stockpot for bigger gatherings)!

Absolutely worth the money
Absolutely love this pot. I like to make a lot of my own chicken and vegetable stock as well as all sorts of soups that I can put into single servings in the freezer. Great to not have to use a colander to strain pastas or the vegetables I use for stock. The safety handle feature is a major plus. I own other Gotham steel products and love them too. Highly recommend.

These strainer pots are a MUST HAVE!
I bought one of these pots at the as seen on TV store many years ago… it was red with the copper coating. It served me for about ten years… I was having to screw the handles back in but it worked for so many things that when I saw this pot in Amazon I not the bullet and gave my old one to my Goddaughter and bought this one for myself. The closing mechanism is so much better than the old model and it’s so easy to strain, pasta, potatoes, vegetables and stock or broth is so the flipping easy!!! Love love love this kind of pot… this is a MUST HAVE especially at this price point,?

Beautiful 5 qt. pot with built-in strainer. Just turn the cover locks to hold down cover while your food is draining. Very attractive and lightweight. One caveat: low to medium heat is recommended – a high flame might burn the cover locking mechanism. Recommended.

I only bought this because I wanted to save space and effort by not needing a colander as well but this is actually good, has lasted pretty well and the gimmick is actually useful

The pour out of the pot functionality is extremely slow.
Decent pot but a bit gimmicky. We needed a new pot and this one looked great. I initially thought the built in draining function would be great for cooking pasta. It was a good price and a solid pot with a cool feature I had never considered before. I’ll start with the good and end with the bad.It’s a great pot. It’s non-stick surface seems to be pretty durable and as a result we can use less oil when cooking. It’s a nice size too. The glass lid is a must when cooking sauces and such. It also seems to heat up very quickly compared to our old pot. So boiling and simmering is really easy. Lastly the price point is incredible.The handles are a type of plastic. I do worry if I am not mindful I’m going to accidentally melt them one day. We have a dual burner oven and the flame can get quite large. The built in draining function is incredibly slow. All of that water needs to go out a very small opening. I’m used to just dumping the contents into a strainer and that whole process takes about five seconds. I can see times where this would be useful, like to reduce the liquidity in something, but its utility for pasta cooking is basically zero.With all that said, it is still a very solid pot. If I had to do it again I don’t think I would have bought this one, but it’s also not so bad that I felt the need to return it. It serves its purpose well, and I suppose there will come a day when I will be glad that I can easily drain water out of the lid. A solid three stars.
